A bit about meMy name is Megan and I am a first year graduate student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am getting my MFA is in theatrical design and production, specifically in props. I moved away from my family and friends over a year ago now in order to take a 9 month internship in Ithaca, New York. I thought that at the end of those 9 months I'd be headed back to the sunny embrace of my family and the California coast but apparently that was not the path God has for me. So now I'm trying to figure out what this new and unexpected path is and what it has for me. I am so excited to see explore this new opportunity and learn all that there is to learn here!

What's with the name? One of my very favorite books is Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In the book Alice is lost in the woods of Wonderland when she comes across the Cheshire Cat:
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat. "I don't care much where-" said Alice. "Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat. "-so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation. "Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if only you walk long enough." This quote has meant so much to me in the past year or so, in a way it is my current philosophy. I believe God has a plan for me and I know that whatever I do he will open the right doors, so my job is just to keep walking. I'm not exactly certain where I want to end up but I know I will get there if I just walk long enough. |
